QUESTION: Can PERMA·CRETE® be used to fill wide cracks that are the same depth as a concrete slab?
ANSWER: If the crack is wider than 3/8" and through the slab, fill the crack
from the bottom of the slab to within 1" of the surface with PERMA·CRETE®
or POLAR·SET Matrix mixture prior to repairing the crack. If the crack is 1/8"
to 3/8", fill the entire crack from the top down to the bottom of the slab with Perma·Bond
and coarse sand.
QUESTION: Can multiple colors of Matrix Colorant be applied to a texture coat to create custom color applications without the use of Perma·Seal Stain Sealer(s)?
ANSWER: Yes, but either PermaSeal Clear Sealer or Concrete Clear Sealer must then be applied over the surface to protect
the finish. However, only Stain Sealers were designed to create consistent
surface colors for grout line and texture coat applications. NOTE: Single and two
color PERMA·CRETE® applications using only Colorants may appear blotchy or
milky if no Stain Sealer is used. This is due to the different levels of alkalinity in
the cement contained in each bag of Matrix Mix.
QUESTION: Can PERMA·CRETE® be installed over a new, concrete stucco surface?
ANSWER: Matrix can be installed over a concrete stucco surface as long as the
surface has cured for 7-10 days (if the moisture content in the concrete is low) and
is clean and dry prior to the installation of Matrix.
QUESTION: Can Perma·Seal Stain Sealer be applied over solvent based Concrete Clear Sealer?
ANSWER: Concrete Clear Sealer is a solvent-based sealer that dries to a clear,
abrasion resistant film. Since Perma·Seal Stain Sealer is a water-based sealer, it
cannot penetrate or adhere properly to the solvent-based sealer and may later
delaminate from the surface.
